Krysia Lynch has dedicated the last 17 years to supporting individuals on their wellness journeys, with a particular focus on women’s health, babies, children, and mental health. Her substantial career began with a foundational education in Classical Homeopathy from The Irish School of Homeopathy, where she earned her Licentiate after four years of study in 2006. She furthered her expertise with a postgraduate course in Homeopathy in 2007 and gained registration with the Irish Society of Homeopathy in 2008 after completing a rigorous two-year CPD program.
In addition to her homeopathic credentials, Krysia is a trained breastfeeding counselor affiliated with La Leche of Ireland and provides essential support in her role as a Postnatal Doula. Her academic accomplishments also include a PhD and a Master’s degree in Science, underscoring her deep commitment to evidence-based practice.
Experience in Maternity Care
Krysia’s experience as a doula is particularly notable, having supported over 90 births across Dublin’s three major maternity hospitals and at home. Her expertise spans a wide range of birthing experiences, including induction, cesarean births, unmedicated vaginal births, water births, and medicalized births. Recognized as a leading advocate for maternity care in Ireland, Krysia serves as the Chair of AIMS Ireland and is a frequent speaker at both international and national maternity conferences.
Contributions to National Maternity Policies
Krysia has played a pivotal role in shaping maternity care policies in Ireland. She was instrumental in developing Ireland’s National Maternity Strategy and is a key member of its Implementation Group. Her efforts also led to the creation of the Maternity Service User Advisory Board and she represents service users on the Perinatal Mental Health Strategy. Additionally, she is involved in the HIQA steering committee for the National Maternity Experience Survey.
Education and Advocacy
An accredited Birthing from Within Mentor and doula since 2003, Krysia has been educating expectant parents through antenatal childbirth classes. Her writings on maternity care appear in numerous blogs, and she also serves as an Agony Aunt for The Journal.ie’s parenting column, offering advice and support to a broad audience.
Current Role
Currently, Krysia is a vital member of the Insight Matters Team, where she offers a range of services including Homeopathic consultations, Antenatal Education, Birth Story Medicine, Breastfeeding support, and Doula services. Her comprehensive approach to care ensures that every MotherBaby pair receives the respect, dignity, and informed decision-making support they deserve during the childbirth process.
