Mary Zwart-Werkhoven

A midwife since 1969 and a nurse since 1971
After a world tour she became a midwife in Ermelo ,the Netherlands until 1996.
During that time, next to being a midwife, she was also a teacher to student nurses and student midwives. She developed a course for nurses: sex in homes for the elderly.
She taught history of midiwfery at the schools for midwifery..
She was a board member of the KNOV(Royal Organisation of Midwives), and the Catharina Schrader Foundation. He is very interested in quality of care. As such she is founder of the Foundation Consumers in the Perinatal Care, and founder of the European Perinatal School.

She is a birth activist since 1996 in Portugal and other countries in Europe, Argentina, Uruquay and Brasil since 2000.
She is an International speaker to Midwifery Today, ICM, Abemfo and guest teacher at State University of New York,New York,USA,
